Healing doesn’t just happen. Just like flowers,

Healing doesn’t just happen. Just like flowers, humans need certain conditions in order to bloom. If you think about a wildflower in the woods, there is an unseen network of underground species, plants, animals and fungi, that are contributing to each plant getting enough nutrition in order to produce a flower and bloom. ⁠
⁠
We need one another to do this work. More specifically, we need to feel SUPPORTED by others in order to allow ourselves to be truly seen in our fullest expression. ⁠
⁠

🌲Our Dark Woods Grief Support Group is open for enrolment NOW until February 7th.🌲 ⁠

There is the option to join a session every week. You do not need to attend all sessions though! Most people choose to join 2 or 3 sessions per month. ⁠
⁠
💛Our Zoom "Grief & Praise" sessions are primarily process-based – including writing practices, somatic/embodied practices, and group as well as partner/trio work. If you miss a live session, they will be recorded so you can listen and do the practices on your own or with a friend. ⁠
⁠
🫂We also have a vibrant, online community that is accessible 24/7 for community support.⁠
⁠
GRIEF, HONOURED IN COMMUNITY, HELPS US TO FIND THE BEAUTY IN OUR COMMON HUMANITY.⁠
We see and feel in our bones that we are truly not alone. ⁠
⁠
🙏🏾This builds resilience and increases our capacity to be with the harder emotions.⁠

Being witnessed in a compassionate and mutually vulnerable group increases our ability to have deep compassion for ourselves and others. ⁠

WHEN WE SHARE AND WITNESS EACH OTHER’S GRIEF IN COMMUNITY, WE TRANSFORM IN A PROFOUND WAY THAT SIMPLY IS NOT POSSIBLE IN ISOLATION OR IN 1:1 THERAPY.⁠

I woke up the other morning after this dream and realized that we are literally in a dance battle for LOVE right now on this beautiful planet so full of suffering. When we give in to despair, fear or hatred and let those energies take us over completely, everyone loses (especially us!). When we let all these energies move THROUGH us, or better yet, shake them through by dancing, LOVE wins. Which side are you on right now?

🌌It might go against everything you have been fighting for. To ‘keep it all together’, to ‘keep calm and carry on’, to try and muster the energy to keep pushing when everything in your body is wanting to fall apart.⁠
⁠
💔And what would happen if you had the support around you to be able to give in to that feeling?⁠
⁠
Often, the FEAR of the feeling is more overwhelming than the feeling itself. ⁠
⁠
And often, there is actually deep peace at the very core of the feelings you most fear - inside the darkness you may have been avoiding. ⁠
⁠
I know it can be terrifying. That is why we do this work TOGETHER in community. ⁠
No one finds it easy, at first, to turn towards their grief. ⁠
⁠
We are not taught how to do it, and society tells us to isolate ourselves until we can put on a happy face. But there is no healing in isolation. We heal in relationship with each other. ⁠
⁠
💧When you let even one tear fall, and be witnessed in loving community, it changes everything. ⁠
It shifts the darkness from being a terrible monster into a loving, supportive presence, there to greet you with open arms.⁠
⁠
Everyone can do this. You just need the right support. ⁠
⁠
